Stranger Things Collaboration
Designing a pop culture collaboration fans would love
As the lead graphic designer, I directed the visual identity for a concept collaboration between Netflix’s Stranger Things and a retail partner. Working with a team of three designers, I shaped the creative direction, developed cohesive visual assets, and prepared the concept for presentation to the Netflix product team.
Freeze Frame Nostalgia
Slurpee as a Time Machine to the ‘80s
Slurpees were a defining part of 1980s convenience store culture — the same era Stranger Things lives in. With its retro roots and iconic status, the Slurpee is the perfect drink to tap into the nostalgic setting of Hawkins, Indiana. It feels like a treat the Stranger Things kids would grab on the way to the arcade or after escaping the Upside Down.
Flavor Experiments from the Lab
Custom Slurpee Flavors Built for the Upside Down
Slurpees are highly customizable, making them the perfect platform for limited-edition, show-inspired flavors. Think: a red “Upside Down Cherry” or a citrusy “Demogorgon Lime” & and finally a fresh “Strange Blue Berry”. These special-edition drinks drive repeat visits and collectible culture, especially when paired with exclusive Stranger Things cup art or digital unlocks
Sippable Aesthetics
A Canvas for Visual Storytelling
With their vibrant colors, swirling textures, and bold cup designs, Slurpees are tailor-made for social media and fan culture. Stranger Things, known for its neon-lit horror and retro flair, can translate visually into themed Slurpee cups and unique flavor mixes. The drink becomes more than a refreshment — it’s a shareable, collectible piece of the story.
